Lealman STEAM Day Doubles in Size, Expands Youth Opportunity

In just three years, Lealman STEAM Day has more than doubled its reach—growing from 60 participants in its inaugural year to over 125 children and youth in 2025. This sharp increase highlights a growing demand for hands-on, accessible opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) for Lealman families.

Hosted annually at the Lealman Community Center, STEAM Day is a collaborative effort to bridge the opportunity gap and spark early interest in high-demand fields. Each year, students engage with interactive exhibits, coding stations, robotics demos, and arts-based problem-solving—fueled by local educators, scientists, and volunteers.

This growth isn’t just about attendance; it reflects rising community momentum. As part of its broader commitment to innovation, the organizing team is now leading the revitalization of the historic St. Pete Science Center—a move that will expand year-round access to STEAM learning for Lealman’s youth.
