Mustard Seed Inn is sporting a new look and restorative, beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces, thanks to the efforts of the Leadership St. Petersburg (LSP) class of 2021. At a ribbon cutting at the property on Friday, June 4, class members, residents, public officials and donors gathered to admire the results of the many months of work that went in to the class project.
Owned by WestCare and located in the Grand Central District, the Mustard Seed Inn has for more than 30 years been a place where homeless individuals begin their recovery from addiction and mental illness.
The St. Petersburg Foundation supported the project with a gift of $8,200. LSP class of 2021 raised more than $158,000 in cash and in-kind donations for the project and contributed hundreds of hours of volunteer labor.
Each year LSP class members give back to the community through a project they select from numerous proposals from area nonprofits. LSP is a program of the Greater St. Petersburg Area Chamber.
